Get To Know April’s Saints!

St. Julie Billiart | April 8

Patron of the poor and the sick

By the age of seven, St. Julie Billiart knew the catechism by heart and would explain it to her friends and family. She went on to become a religious leader in her community, an advocate for the poor, an educator, a social worker, and the founder of the Sisters of Notre Dame. St. Julie was known for her piety and virtuous life. St. Julie, Billiart, pray for us!

St. Anselm | April 21

Patron of academic scholars

St. Anslem of Canterbury was a Benedictine Monk, Bishop, theologian, philosopher, and Doctor of the Church who was declared a saint in 1720. He made many contributions to Church reform and continues to be widely respected as a Christian thinker. He is best known in philosophy for explaining the ontological argument and in theology for his doctrine of the atonement. St. Anselm, pray for us!

April’s Prayer

We encourage you to learn and pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet during April.

You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls,
and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world.
O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy,
envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us.

Repeat three times:
O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!
