Today we celebrate the feast day of St. Clare of Assisi, a woman who dedicated her life to following Jesus Christ in poverty and simplicity. She was a close friend of St. Francis of Assisi, and together they founded the Order of Poor Clares.
St. Clare was known for her deep love of God and her compassion for the poor. She was also a gifted mystic, and she experienced many visions and ecstasies.
St. Clare is an inspiration to us all, and her example challenges us to live our lives in simplicity and poverty, and to love God and neighbor with all our hearts.
