May 2022

The month of May is dedicated to the Blessed Mother.

"Look to the star of the sea, call upon Mary … in danger, in distress, in doubt, think of Mary, call upon Mary. May her name never be far from your lips, or far from your heart … If you follow her, you will not stray; if you pray to her, you will not despair; if you turn your thoughts to her, you will not err. If she holds you, you will not fall; if she protects you, you need not fear; if she is your guide, you will not tire; if she is gracious to you, you will surely reach your destination.”

St. Bernardine of Siena | May 20

Patron of advertisers, chest problem, and gambling addicts

St. Bernardine is known as the greatest preacher of his time. He attracted large crowds as he traveled throughout Italy sharing the message of the Gospel and calling people to repent. He was known for his devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus and you might recognize the symbol he created, IHS, which is the first three letters of the name of Jesus in Greek. St. Bernardine, pray for us!

St. Rita | May 22

Patron of lost and impossible causes, sickness, marital problems, and mothers

St. Rita suffered through an abusive marriage, but because of her kindness and patience she was able to eventually convert her husband to Christianity. After her husband and sons died she began her life as an Augustinian religious sister. St. Rita experienced many spiritual gifts and a partial stigmata while here on earth. Her body remains incorrupt since her death in 1457. St. Rita, pray for us!

April’s Prayer

The Fatima Prayer

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy.
