Blessed Pier Frassati | July 4
Patron of youth and young adults
Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati (1901-1925) is remembered for his youthful vigor and spirit of adventure that seemed to captivate those around him. He inspired many to give their lives to God and is known as “the man of the beatitudes”, a title given to him by St. John Paul II. "Verso L'Alto", to the heights, is the motto he lived by. Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, pray for us!
St. Kateri Tekakwitha | July 14
Patron of the environment, loss of parents, people ridiculed for piety
St. Kateri converted to Catholicism at the age of nineteen and quickly became known for her piety and devotion to the virtue of chastity. She was shunned by many in the Algonquin–Mohawk tribe because of her love for God and life of holiness. Her commitment to Jesus never wavered in spite of the trials she faced. She declared, “I am not my own; I have given myself to Jesus.” St. Kateri Tekakwitha, pray for us!
