St. John Eudes | August 19
Patron of Missionaries
St. John Eudes was a priest with a special devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary. He was a prolific writer and popular evangelist and confessor. He lived through the plagues of the 1600s, but that did not stop him from ministering to the sick and dying in his diocese. St. John Eudes, Pray for us!
St. Jeanne Jugan | August 30
Patron of the Elderly
St. Jeanne Jugan was a French nun who was dedicated to the needs of the elderly. She was also devoted to teaching the Catechism to the children in her town. She founded the Little Sisters of the Poor in 1839 to ensure that her ministry would continue. St. Jeanne Jugan, pray for us!
Prayer of the Month
O Immaculate Heart of Mary,
refuge of sinners,
I beg of you by the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus,
and by the graces God has granted to you since your Immaculate Conception,
the grace of never going astray again.
Mother, keep me, a sinner,
constantly bathed in the light of your Immaculate Heart.
Amen.
