By the age of seven, St. Julie Billiart knew the catechism by heart and would explain it to her friends and family. She went on to become a religious leader in her community, an advocate for the poor, an educator, a social worker, and the founder of the Sisters of Notre Dame. St. Anselm | April 21
Patron of academic scholars
St. Anslem of Canterbury was a Benedictine Monk, Bishop, theologian, philosopher, and Doctor of the Church who was declared a saint in 1720. He made many contributions to Church reform and continues to be widely respected as a Christian thinker. He is best known in philosophy for explaining the ontological argument and in theology for his doctrine of the atonement. St. Anselm, pray for us!
